A Unique Market Place Back in 1985 "An Affair of the Heart, Inc." began as a dream for eight Oklahoma women who were frequent exhibitors of arts and craft shows. They had often discussed what was good and what could have been better about each show. One day they decided to build their own show—so special and so unique that it would attract artisans and craft lovers from nearby and far across the land. The first show in Oklahoma City in 1985 featured 65 exhibitors with 850 people in attendance. The show was such a success, by the next year the number increased. Each year the numbers grew! Exhibitors in ever-increasing numbers gathered to display their unique offerings. Thousands of excited visitors came to browse, shop and take home their special discoveries from an outstanding array of fine arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, and gift items. In 1991 the show expanded to 3 days taking up 4 buildings of wonderful exhibitors at the Fairgrounds! All elements kept expanding until by October 1991 this nationally acclaimed event grew to 7 buildings at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds, housing over 1000 booths in 3 days. Still there is never enough time to cover these miles of walking, eating and shopping. Exhibitors come from over 40 states to sell their special products at this "Best of 200" event as named by the Sunshine Artist magazine.(a national craft trade publication). The women feel this is a business that has been dedicated to God and we give glory to him for our growth with His guidance as we go forward. The excitement of "An Affair of the Heart" is contagious. Smiles abound as visitors to the show find an incredible array of accessories and gift items. There’s just so much of what you want and what you love, all at one event!
